(IsraelNN.com) The Russian army recently finished preparing for Passover under the guidance of the newly established army Rabbinate.  The rabbinate was established by Rabbi Berel Lazar, the Chief Rabbi of Russia, in order to tend to the needs of Jewish soldiers.

The army’s preparations for Passover this year involved sending kosher for Passover food items to Jewish soldiers and police officers throughout the country.  Jewish community leaders in Russia estimate that 20,000 Jews serve in the country’s army and police force.
