Student activist Dan Illouz, who launched a Facebook group in memory of those murdered in last Thursday's attack at Jerusalem's Merkaz HaRav Yeshiva has launched a new memorial initiative.
The group currently has 17,000 people, leading Illouz to try to galvanize the electronic support toward a more lasting positive memorial for the fallen yeshiva students. "I created this group with the said intention of using it for a positive purpose, not just to have people click join. So I also created a fundraiser which is based at http://www.merkazmemorial.com in order to publish a compilation of divrei torah in their memory."
Illouz hopes to attract rabbis from all over the Jewish spectrum to create a lasting work of Torah and Jewish unity.
