Four Kassam rockets exploded in Sderot several minutes ago, two of them in the center of town. Medics are treating several people for shock, but no other injuries were reported. One house was hit, and several cars sustained damage. At least 18 rockets exploded in and around the Negev city since 8 a.m. Thursday, following 50 rockets on Wednesday that exploded as far north as Ashkelon. The latest attack came as visitors were touring the city to give support to the battered town.
One person was killed Wednesday by a rocket at the nearby Sapir Regional College. Terrorists may try to disrupt the funeral, scheduled for 3 p.m., by staging more rocket attacks. The cemetery is located outside the normal range of Kassam rockets but is easily within the range of longer-range Grad missiles.
