Arch terrorist Imad Mughniyeh may have been killed by Syria, according to his wife. The terrorist died in a car-bombing on February 12 in Damascus.
"The Syrian traitors are culpable for his death and their refusal to allow Iran to investigate the incident is further proof," Mughniyeh's widow told reporters at a news conference in Tehran.
A US diplomatic official had previously claimed the Syrian-backed Hizbullah may have been behind the killing. Mughniyeh's widow claims that Syria killed him due to rumors that he was trying to wrest control of Hizbullah from Sheikh Hassan Nasrallah.
Hizbullah has repeatedly claimed Israel was behind the killing.
