Defense Minister Ehud Barak pushed the Finance Minister for funding to build a “smart fence” to prevent infiltration into the country by Africans sneaking through the border with Egypt.
During the cabinet meeting Sunday, Barak said plans have already been completed for the fence in the Eilat and Nitzana regions. He urged the Finance Minister to cooperate with acceleration of the project by immediately transferring the needed funds to the Defense Ministry so construction can begin.
