Weather forecasters are scratching their heads following the disappointment of Israelis who were waiting for the second big snowstorm of the year in Jerusalem. Snow fell occasionally in the early hours of the morning in the capital and surrounding areas, but most of it melted immediately, leaving a thin covering, enough for people to say it snowed. Officials will decide in the next hour whether schools will start on time.
Highway 60 from Hevron/Kiryat Arba to Gush Etzion was closed for a short time because of snow on the hilly road. In the southern hills, light snow is beginning to fall, and heavy snow fell on the Hermon.
