The U.S. dollar sank by 0.855 percent Friday and reached a nominal value of NIS 3.5940. This is the American currency's lowest shekel value since February of 1998 – almost exactly 10 years ago.

The Euro went down by 0.759% to NIS 5.3877.

Analysts said that the fact that the U.S. lowered it interest rates while Israel has not caused the local currency to get stronger at the dollar's expense.
