French President Nicolas Sarkozy began a state visit to Saudi Arabia Sunday by offering assistance with Saudi Arabia's nuclear program. Sarkozy said he would send a delegation from the Paris-based Commissariat à l'Énergie Atomique to Riyadh in the coming weeks.
Tuesday, Sarkozy is expected to sign a joint statement with the Gulf Arab states offering French assistance to develop atomic energies for peaceful purposes.
