A report in Friday's New York Times said that Syria has begun rebuilding the suspected nuclear facility said to have been destroyed by Israel last September. New satellite photos of the area show a building being built, similar to the one destroyed in September.

After the bombing last year, Syria quickly cleared the area of debris, in an attempt to cover up the nature of the facility, the report said. In light of the “international uproar” over the construction, an expert told the Times, it was unlikely that the new building was a nuclear reactor, but could be a further attempt by Syria to cover up the remains of the nuclear program facility at the site.
