Ali Larijani, a senior advisor to Iranian spiritual leader Ayatollah Ali Khomeini, met with representatives of several terror organizations in Damascus Sunday and pledged Iran would "continue to support the Palestinians' legitimate jihad" against Israel. Terrorist leaders at the meeting included Hamas leader Khaled Mashaal and Islamic Jihad Secretary General Ramadan Shalach.

Iran has long provided logistical and political support to terrorist organizations. Iranian agents are believed to have been behind a long string of attacks on civilian targets, including the 1988 Pan Am bombing over Lockerbie, Scotland, the 1993 bombing of a Jewish Community Center in Buenos Aires, Argentina and is believed to fund the Hizbullah organization in south Lebanon.

The Katyusha missile that struck northern Ashkelon last week is believed to have been supplied by Iran.
