Radical Anti-Israel Activist to Head Film Festival

British filmmaker Judy Price, a radical left-wing member of the London-based Jews for Justice for Palestinians has been honored by the British Council to head next month's British Film Festival.

A fierce critic of Israel has been chosen by the British Council to play a key role in the annual British Film Festival in Israel next month. Price told the Jerusalem Post she saw the festival as "an opportunity to bring to the forefront the British Mandate's role in the Nakba and establishment in the State of Israel and to construct a program that could not in any way be interpreted as jingoistic or nationalistic."

However, one of Price's first moves as festival chairwoman was to invite Chaim Bresheeth, an Israeli-born anti-Zionist lecturer to participate in the festival. Bresheeth refused to visit the "racist" Israel, but the invitation seemed to contradict Price's commitment not to construct a "jingoistic" program.
