A group of ten anti-Semites taunted four Jewish students on a New York City subway last Friday night saying, "Chanukkah is when the Jews killed Jesus," and wishing them "Merry Christmas." When the Jews replied with a "Happy Chanukah" greeting, the anti-Semites beat and cursed the Jews. Police arrested eight men and two women, ages 19 and 20, for assault, harassment and disorderly conduct, according to the Associated Press.

The victims suffered bruises on their heads. The Anti-Defamation League applauded "the speed and efficiency of the NYPD and its Hate Crimes Task Force in treating this bias incident seriously, and look forward to seeing the perpetrators prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law."
