EL Al Profits Soar to New Record

Third quarter profits for El Al airlines broke record levels, with air fare hikes offsetting the rise in fuel costs. Profits were $41 million, 27 percent higher than in the same quarter last year.



The national airline previously has been debt-ridden but has restructured management and operations since it went public with a stock share offering.
