The Bank of Israel has raised its forecast for economic growth next year to 4.4 percent but warned that it could drop to 3.6 percent if the American economy slides into a recession. The previous growth forecast for 2008 was 4.4 percent.
The Bank also foresees a slower rise in the employment rate as more jobs are filled, and it expects a slack in productivity.
