MK Amir Peretz said Friday that Defense Minister and Labor chairman Ehud Barak supports the Annapolis summit outwardly, but that Barak has told people in private talks that he expects the summit to fail.
Peretz attacked Barak, saying: "Had Barak said, 'Look guys, I learned from my experience at Camp David that we have to be careful when trying a conference like this, because if it fails, it could bring an escalation, a confrontation, a new intifadah… You know what? I would appreciate that tremendously."
Peretz said the Labor MKs should vote against the state budget in its present form, and that ruling party Kadima is breaking its commitments to Labor in the coalition agreement between them, in matters of social justice.
