Palestinian Authority Chairman Mahmoud Abbas gave United States Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice a series of maps of Israel, according to Al-Hayyat. Abbas reportedly gave Rice the maps during her previous visit to the region, in October.
The first map, from 1948, showed all of Israel as “Palestine,” although there was no such country at the time. The set of maps was meant to show Israel’s expansion over the course of the past several decades, PA sources said.
