Israeli officials said Wednesday that despite rumors to the contrary, Israel does not intend to release Lebanese terrorist Samir Kuntar. Kuntar is serving four life sentences for the murder of four Israelis, including 28-year-old Danny Haran and his four-year-old daughter Einat. Two-year-old Yael Haran was suffocated while hiding from Kuntar and his fellow terrorists.
Anonymous officials were rumored to have said that Kuntar would be released in exchange for information on missing IAF pilot Ron Arad. While Hizbullah was said to have given Israel documents regarding Arad as part of a recent exchange of bodies, the Prime Minister’s Office later reported that Hizbullah had given Israel information regarding a different matter.
