An official United Nations vehicle took a reporter and photographer for the Israeli newspaper Ha'aretz past the olive groves of a resident of the Jewish community of Mitzpe Yair Thursday night, causing a confrontation. Ha'aretz alleged that the Jewish farmer jumped on the vehicle and broke the windshield, injuring the driver. However, a resident said that the windshield broke when the driver braked the car and that the Jewish farmer was injured.

The newspaper stated that the U.N. vehicle drove by Mitzpe Yair, in the southern Hevron Hills, after visiting a nearby Arab village. The Jewish farmer charged that their intent was to uproot his trees.
