Shimshon Cytryn Found Guilty on Assault Charges

Shimshon Cytryn was found guilty in a Be’er Sheva courtroom on charges of aggravated assault on Sunday in connection with a rock-throwing incident in Gaza before the 2005 eviction of Gush Katif Jews. Mr. Cytryn may face years in jail as a result of the verdict. He was found not guilty of attempted murder in the case, which was originally portrayed as a lynching of the victim, who was not charged although he was throwing rocks at Jews on a Gaza beach before and after he was struck.

Shimshon's father Shmuel was unable to be present in the courtroom due to his incarceration on house arrest after an incident in which he was attacked by two Palestinian Authority Arabs who hurled rocks at his car, smashing his windshield.
