A spokesman for the Al Aqsa Brigades, the armed militia of the Hamas terror group, said that more Kassam rockets will be fired – and this time, the target will be Ashkelon, not Sderot.

After the IDF's targeting terror gangs in Gaza over the past several days, the terror group spokesman Abu Obeidah said that “just like the Zionists ran away from Sderot, they will soon run from Ashkelon. He added that the “unbalanced” reaction by Israel to the Kassam rocket barrages proved that Israel was
suffering badly from the Kassam attacks. “They are using F-16 planes to bomb buildings, and they have drafed their whole military operation to fight simple soldiers with almost no weapons. This shows how badly they are suffering,” he said.

A report said that southern district police were taking the new threat seriously. Commander Uri Bar-Lev said that police in Ashkelon are on high alert until further notice in order to cope with an expected barrage of rockets on the city.
