More than half of both Jewish and Arab Israelis (56 percent) believe that the way to get rich is through deceit and corruption, according to a new poll presented at the Haifa Conference on Social Responsibility on Monday.

The presentation of the poll, called the Social Responsibility Index, was a central part of the conference, which was held at the University of Haifa.

The survey also found that only 9 percent of Jewish respondents feel the government is “doing the right things.” Only 11 percent of Jews and 7 percent of Israeli Arabs who were questioned believe that the government makes decisions that benefit the general public.
