Sources in the Likud responded to Prime Minister Ehud Olmert’s speech on Thursday night by saying that the cause of Olmert’s lack of popularity is the fact that he has failed completely in his duties. There is a reason that the majority of Israelis want Olmert to quit his position, they said.

In his speech, Olmert admitted that he is not popular as a Prime Minister, but blamed that fact on the media and on his opponents. Olmert singled out Likud head Binyamin Netanyahu for attack, saying that Netanyahu takes every opportunity to criticize him.
