Peace Now Admits to Mistaken Report (IsraelNN.com) The extreme-left Peace Now organization recently admitted that a report released by the group in November was incorrect. In the report, the group claimed that 86% of the Jewish town of Maaleh Adumim was built on private Arab land, and called the argument that Jewish towns are built on state land “misleading and false.” The report claimed that the Peace Now figures proved that Maaleh Adumim and other towns were built illegally, and that the government knew about the figures and covered them up.
The Civil Administration and military officials spoke with Peace Now activists about the report and showed them official data on the towns. After the discussions, the group admitted that only 0.5% of Maaleh Adumim was built on private land. Peace Now activist Dror Etkes blamed the army for the mistake, saying that military officials should have shown activists the data before the report’s release. ![]() © A7 Syndications - This article may not be republished freely.
