(IsraelNN.com) The Supreme Court has overturned a lower court decision which would have allowed the Dor Alon and Sonol energy companies to merge despite objections by the government's anti-trust authority.
The three-judge panel said it is not explaining its reasoning because of the "special circumstances of the companies themselves" and because of present conditions in the energy market. The anti-trust authority said the merger would restrict competition. Dor Alon is a relatively new company that spearheaded self-service fuel stations and reduced prices for fuel.
