(IsraelNN.com)Two more Israeli Arab Knesset members are set to meet in Jerusalem with Hamas officials on Thursday, a day after a meeting between three members of the United Arab List – Tal faction and terrorist leaders touched off a war of words between Arab MKs and Jewish government officials.
Jamal Zahalka and Wasil Taha from the Balad party will meet at the home of Mohammed Abu Tir, a senior Hamas official and cabinet member of the Palestinian Authority, now controlled by the terror organization. Wednesday’s meeting was also held at Abu Tir’s Jerusalem home.
The Israeli Arab MKs met with the Hamas members in a show of support after Israel decided to strip four Hamas officials of their Jerusalem residency following Monday’s suicide bombing in Tel Aviv. The attack left nine dead and more than 60 wounded.
Kadima party MK Chaim Ramon told Army Radio that UAL-Tal party chairman MK Talab el-Sana will not be allowed to join the Knesset Foreign Affairs and Security Committee, in retaliation for his visit on Wednesday with Abu Tir.
“Any Israeli citizen, whether he is Jewish or Arab, who meets with a representative of a terror organization, is carrying out a grave deed and in my opinion is also breaking the law, all the more so when Knesset members are involved,” he said. Ramon, chairman of the Committee, was approached by Knesset member Effie Eitam of the National Religious Party – National Union, to bar el-Sana from sitting on the Committee.
