Op-Ed: Is it Hot in Here or Am I Crazy?

The world today has the writer wondering...

I am reminded of the comedian Gilbert Gottfried who said that he was having lunch with the serial killer Charles Manson, when Manson turned to him and said, “Is it hot in here or am I crazy?”

That about sums up the world today; is it hot in here or am I crazy?

Why don’t we send an Israeli ambassador to Russia to see if he can broker an immediate ceasefire between the U.S. and ISIS? After all, Obama always needs to broker an immediate Israeli ceasefire with Hamas terrorists. It’s okay for the U.S. to drop bombs, thousands of miles away from home in Iraq, but Israel must quickly be stopped from defending her tiny home’s border.

Obama’s fury was focused on defending Muslims, while the American young man’s severed head lay on the ground.
It is considered an “international crisis” when Central American children come over the Southern U.S. border, but when thousands of deadly Hamas rockets are lobbed indiscriminately over the Gaza border onto Israeli children, it’s labeled a “last resort.”

A journalist is beheaded on You Tube and Obama gets on TV, from his vacation spot, mad as heck, trying to tell the world that the Muslim with the knife, who did the beheading, doesn’t represent the Islamic faith. Obama’s fury was focused on defending Muslims, while the American young man’s severed head lay on the ground.

Europe has become unsafe for Jews; the world is boycotting Israel; and a rabbi, walking to the synagogue on the Sabbath in Miami, is shot dead point blank, by two African American young men. Obama immediately sends his Attorney General Eric Holder to Missouri to investigate what is being pronounced a “bias crime” of a police officer who shot a man who had just robbed a store and assaulted the owner on video. The dead rabbi killing on the Sabbath, in Miami, where anti-Israel protests were held and “Hamas” was spray painted on a synagogue, is considered a “robbery gone bad.” Floridians shouldn’t hold their breath for Holder.

Terrorists, rapists, murderers, killer drunken drivers, wife beaters and child molesters are paroled, freed, released and pardoned while Sholom Rubashkin, a kosher meat purveyor, and Jonathan Pollard, a civilian intelligence analyst, both rot in prison with life sentences.

Perhaps if these two harmless convicted Jews were Muslim terrorists serving in Gitmo, Obama would unlock their cell doors. No comedic joke here. Obama released Muslim Gitmo prisoners and sent them to Bermuda to resettle there. On the plane they were given shirts and ties and shown how to make a knot. The fate their necks were given was somewhat different than that of the neck of the poor young journalist who was beheaded by the Muslim on You Tube.

Am I crazy? The list goes on.

So if I approach you, at an airport or at a shopping mall, and ask you to put tfillin on your arm in order to protect an Israeli soldier’s arm, or give you Sabbath candles to kindle in order to transform the world’s darkness into light, please say, “yes.” And if you want to know why I am asking you to do this - it’s because the world is normal and I’m crazy.
