In our present war with Iran we see how Amalek is being destroyed in this period between Purim and Passover.

This past Shabbat, we witnessed tens of thousands of reservists across Israel change from their Shabbat clothing into the sacred uniform of the IDF. Fathers of young children heard the reading imploring us to remember the cruelty of Amalek, then left their families to answer the call once again.

During a Purim event, the Beit El Dean blessed the pilots participating in the operation against the Iranian regime and Prime Minister Netanyahu that they should annihilate the enemy.

Megillat Esther never once mentions G-d; Parashat Tetsave does not mention Moses; Amalek seemed to have disappeared from history. But G-d gives us the discernment to perceive them all.

Every Jew should read Parashat Zachor and remember what Rabbi Joseph Ber Soloveitchik said about Amalek today.

The obliteration of Amalek and building the Beit Mikdash are two commandments Bnei Yisrael must keep upon entering Eretz Yisrael.

The moment we are on our own, we become vulnerable to Amalek.

We must know that our war today is a war of the Children of Light against the Beasts of Darkness.

The Canaanite king of Arad had an Amaekite goal. He fought Israel attempting to annihilate them, and took captives. History repeats itself.

Our mandate to rescue the most vulnerable amongst our people.

Why a dual imperative?

There are messages for today's situation clearly spelled out in the parasha.

The ultimate agenda of Iran and Hamas—like that of Hitler’s Germany, like that of Amalek—is not simply the destruction of Israel, but of the Jewish people. Opinion.

Those even peripherally connected to an ideology bent on exterminating us don’t deserve our compassion, Mr. Blinken. Follow the Megillah, not the New Age.

Hamas ' acts and those of the Gazans who came in their wake and cheered them on are a violation of the very foundation of the essence of what it means to be a human being. In fact, they are the essence of Amalek.
