An IDF soldier was seriously injured on Saturday in combat in the southern Gaza Strip, the IDF Spokesperson's Unit said on Sunday morning.
The injured soldier serves in the 9th battalion of the 401st Armored Brigade ("Iron Trails")
He was evacuated for medical treatment and his family was notified.
Overnight Sunday, sirens were sounded in communities throughout the Galilee. About 30 launches that crossed from Lebanon were identified. Most of them will be intercepted.
One launch exploded in the area of Beit Hillel, and the rest fell in open areas. There were no injuries.
Meanwhile, over the weekend, Gazan terrorists resumed the rocket fire on southern Israel. On Saturday night, a rocket was fired from the central Gaza Strip towards Israel, but fell in Gazan territory.
On Friday afternoon sirens were sounded in the Kiryat Malachi area, and a rocket fired from Gaza fell in an open area, with no injuries.
In the evening, about 18 additional rockets were fired from the Gaza Strip towards Israeli communities located near the Gaza border, as part of the largest rocket barrage in months.
Some of the rockets were intercepted and others fell in open areas, causing no physical injuries or damage.
A short time later, the IAF struck and dismantled the launchers in the Gaza Strip from which the rockets were fired.
