France has announced its intention to present the European Union with a proposal for new sanctions against Israeli citizens who act violently towards Palestinian Authority Arabs in Judea and Samaria.
"We believe the International Community has a significant part in the effort to end violence that damages the two-state solution," the French Foreign Ministry commented.
According to the United Nations, settler attacks against "Palestinians" have doubled since the October 7th massacre.
A French diplomat reported to Reuters that one of the driving forces behind the French proposal is an attempt to allow sanctions against Hamas and its leaders and so create balance.
The plan includes freezing assets and preventing Hamas leaders from entering the EU, and likewise restricting their activity on social networks.
