A French news outlet has reported that the prisoner swap deal in the works would include the release of 50-100 hostages, in exchange for the release of 300 convicted terrorists who are either female or underage.

The ceasefire which would be included in such a deal would be five days long, the report added.

Meanwhile, Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh told Reuters, "We are nearing a ceasefire agreement."

Haniyeh also said that his organization sent its response regarding a prisoner swap through the Qatari brokers.

Azat a-Rishek, a member of Hamas' political bureau abroad, said, "This is a break for a limited number of days, which was agreed upon in exchange for allowing aid to enter all areas of the Gaza Strip, in exchange for the release of Israeli hostages and the release of a 'limited number' of Palestinian prisoners from prisons in Israel."

A-Rishek emphasized to Al Jazeera that when the details of the ceasefire deal are final, they will be publicized by Qatar.
