"I think something very bad is happening to the left - it has become very clear that people who consider themselves democrats, liberals, and progressives, support a brand of totalitarian terror that oppresses women and minorities," said chairperson of the Labor party, MK Merav Michaeli, in an interview this week with Politico magazine.
"The more left you go, the greater the confusion. Something is very damaged along the way. I don't see how waving the Hamas flag and calling for the murder of Jews is pro-Palestinian."
"When I talk to people outside of Israel, it is important for me to clarify that even people who support the two-state solution are currently under attack," concluded Michaeli, apparently referring to the left-wing camp, many of whom harmed in the October 7 massacre, such as B'Tselem peace activist Vivian Silver, whose body was identified last night.
However, Michaeli mentioned past disputes and claimed, "The way to fix Israel is to “take it” back - and return it to the liberal and democratic path."
Regarding the frequent rumors about Hamas’s requests for a ceasefire, she clarified - "Calling for a ceasefire now will allow Hamas to re-arm itself and continue to steal food and medicine from its own population."
