Minister of National Security Itamar Ben-Gvir concluded talks this evening (Tuesday) with the senior command staff of the Prison Services. Minister Ben Gvir summarized the principles of action required when dealing with the prisoners in prison, in general, and the security prisoners, in particular.

The briefing was attended by: Prison Services Commissioner Kati Perry, Minister Ben Gvir's security secretary Kobi Yaakobi, prison commanders and other Prison Service officers.

At the end of the meeting Minister of National Security Itamar Ben-Gvir said: "I have been sitting here for ten months and that means that the policy needs to be changed, that the conduct needs to be changed, and it is good that the penny has dropped for a lot of people. Everyone understands that what was in the past – will not be in the future."

Ben-Gvir commented on the conditions of the security prisoners: "For many years there has been a catastrophic situation here. The terrorists in prison received things that they were not allowed to receive. There was a major error in perceptions. Today we understand that these things should have been done much earlier. Now there is an opportunity to change things. Not just for this war, but for years ahead. We need to continue on this line, and with this determination.”

According to Ben-Gvir, "We must have zero tolerance towards the Nukhba prisoners who are being imprisoned now. Treat them with as much force as it is possible to treat these human animals.”

"I know that your work is not easy, you act according to official policies. I see your work, your dedication, I want to appreciate you, you are doing holy work - and I want to thank you for that," concluded Ben Gvir.
