MK Ayman Odeh (Hadash) claimed on Wednesday that "the official policy of the State of Israel that deepened the occupation, discrimination and hatred is responsible for what is happening now in the Gaza Strip."
In an interview with Hala TV, Odeh said that "Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu contributed more than any other person to the distance between Jews and Arabs by crushing the horizon for peace that began in the days of the late former Prime Minister Yitzhak Rabin, and he caused the deepening of mutual distance and hatred."
Commenting on the murderous attack by Hamas in the Gaza Strip, he said, "The moral and principled position of the Arab leadership opposes the killing of children and women."
In this context, Odeh quoted the words of the Prophet Muhammad who, before the Battle of Badr, ordered not to kill children and women and not to cut down trees. By this Odeh hinted that the actions of Hamas were against Islam.
Odeh accused the Israeli government of "implementing a more rigid policy even compared to the period of military rule in the Arab sector, which was reflected, among other things, in the firing of Israeli Arabs because of innocent statements interpreted as support for Gaza."
