MK Ayman Odeh (Hadash) was given a security detail following threats to his life by criminal organizations.
The Hadash party responded to the threats: "Criminal organizations in the Arab society have received a green light from the government to go on a rampage and murder. Now they are even comfortable threatening members of the Knesset who try to arrest them."
"Only a country that does not respect itself can ignore a situation where its elected officials are threatened and even murdered by criminals.
"The entire Hadash party supports MK Odeh and will not surrender to criminals or the racist government that inspires them. We will continue to fight fearlessly for the right to live with dignity."
Last May, Odeh, who serves as Hadash-Ta'al’s chairman, announced that he was retiring from political life after eight years in the Knesset.
