Many young brides suffer from nerves in the weeks leading up to their weddings. For Chana Haberman, the stress of the wedding preparations has been causing nightmares, like this one:

With a veil covering my face I am ready to walk down the aisle. I glance up to take in my surroundings before heading to my chuppah. My friends’ smiling faces, my parents holding candles, and rows and rows of cereal boxes.

CEREAL BOXES?? I’m walking down the grocery aisle to my chuppah??

Chana works long hours in the local grocery store as a cashier to earn as much as she can to be able to afford to get married and help support her family. Her father is disabled, and her parents are unable to assist her financially at all.

With the wedding set for tomorrow, in less than 36 hours Chana will be walking down the aisle. Unless she is able to pay for the venue, her nightmare of a chuppah in the cereal aisle - just several feet away from where she works long hours every day - may just become reality.

In a moving letter, Chana shares her desperation with anyone willing to help her:

“I am turning to you to help me. Please help me. I have so little time, and my situation is so desperate. I have no idea what else to do. Please help a bride who works hard to help her family, and is left with literally nothing to start her own life. G-d should bless you with only, only good.”
