IDF soldiers on Friday evening opened fire towards a Palestinian Arab vehicle that tried to run them over near the Palestinian Arab village of Sebastia, located in the Shechem (Nablus) region.

The vehicle continued driving after the soldiers fired at it, but the force detected a direct hit. Palestinian Arab sources later reported that one of the occupants of the vehicle, an 18-year-old Palestinian Arab, died from his wounds. Another Palestinian Arab was injured.

The IDF Spokesperson’s Unit said, “A ramming attempt occurred a short time ago against an IDF force that was conducting activity in Sebastia.”

“The force responded by firing at the two suspects who were traveling in the vehicle. The driver of the vehicle was neutralized and another suspect who was in the vehicle was injured and arrested by the force. There are no casualties among our forces.”

On Thursday, a Jewish civilian was stabbed and seriously wounded in the Gilo neighborhood of Jerusalem.

Magen David Adom paramedics administered medical care to the victim and took him to Shaare Zedek Hospital.

Law enforcement searched the area and apprehended a suspect in the stabbing.

While the background to the incident is not yet clear, there is growing suspicion that it was an act of terrorism.
