Hundreds of former IAF flight crew members published a letter on Wednesday morning in support of the reserve pilots' protest against the government's judicial reform plan. "We will support, without exclusion, any act of protest of yours, including immediately suspending volunteering," the letter stated.

"On Tuesday, it befell on the state of Israel that the Knesset approved a law in its first reading that would critically harm the judicial system by unreasonably expanding the scope of government decisions beyond any judicial criticism. When government decisions can not be subject to reasonability checks by the court, one of the support columns of democracy collapses, and a direct path to dictatorship is opened," wrote the soldiers.

They add: "We stand up for our right as citizens to live and raise our children in a democratic and Jewish state, and demand that the government stop the law's approval process in the Knesset, to abolish it, and no to bring to a second and third reading."

Among those who signed the letter: former Chief of Staff Lt. Gen. (Res.) Dan Halutz, Major Generals (Res.) Avihu Ben-Nun, Gil Regev, Dan Tolkovsky, Nimrod Shefer, Amos Yadlin, Brigadier Generals Assaf Agmon, Ofer Lapidot, and Amir Haskel.
