IDF soldiers on Monday eliminated a terrorist who came to the Neve Tzuf checkpoint from Nachliel in the Binyamin Region. The terrorist was armed with an explosive device and an improvised rifle.
An initial investigation found that he intended to harm soldiers or civilians. He arrived at the checkpoint in his car and seemed suspicious to the soldiers, who surrounded the vehicle and demanded he exits it. As he exited the vehicle, the terrorist threw a grenade at the soldiers, pulled out a Carlo submachine gun, and fired a few shots. The soldiers opened fire and eliminated him.
A large force arrived at the scene and closed the road between Nachliel and Neve Tzuf.
Binyamin Regional Council Governer Israel Ganz posted a message stating: "A few minutes ago, IDF soldiers eliminated an armed terrorist who arrived at the Neve Tzuf checkpoint from Nachliel. The terrorist was armed with an explosive device and an improvised rifle and was going to harm soldiers and civilians, our soldiers shot and killed him, and with that, they prevented a terror attack, thank G-d. Thank you to the IDF commanders and soldiers for the great response."
Ganz added: "An exemplary action by IDF commanders and soldiers prevented a severe terror attack. The Enemy continues to hurt our daily routine, and we stand strong and united against it. The Binyamin Region supports the military in its fight against terror."
