Police on Tuesday arrested seven left-wing activists who were demonstrating in the German Colony neighborhood of Haifa against the counterterrorism operation in Jenin while shouting, “Terorrists”.

The Israel Police said that "in the last hour, a protest was held in the German Colony in Haifa with the participation of dozens of demonstrators, in which the demonstrators chanted slogans condemning the State of Israel and waved PLO flags."

"Since waving the flags could lead to a serious violation of order, the police ordered the protesters to take down the flags and when they did not do so, the police confiscated the flags and the protesters in response began to attack the police," the statement said.

The Israel Police also said that "so far, the police have arrested seven protesters for violating public order, obstructing police officers and assaulting police officers."

"The Israel Police will continue to allow freedom of expression and protest within the limits of the law, but will not allow a violation of public order in violation of the law."
