Rabbi Meir Mazuz, head of the Kisei Rahamim Yeshiva, was evacuated Monday evening to the Mayanei Hayeshua Medical Center in Bnei Brak after feeling unwell.

Rabbi Mazuz, age 78, said in his weekly Torah class that he is suffering from difficult tribulations. He told his students, "May you not know such things and not be familiar with them."

"When I learn Torah, I rise ten tefachim (ten handbreadths) above the ground," he added.

During the class, Rabbi Mazuz explained, "When I come to a class in the yeshiva I am wiped, but in the class is a new world, as if I received a new soul, because the Torah brings joy. I suffer hardships which you should not know and not be familiar with, but when I learn Torah I rise above the ground ten handbreadths. When you learn the [Torah] class, it is alive and it breathes life into you."

The public is asked to pray for the recovery of Rabbi Meir Nissim, the son of Kamsana, among the other ill of Israel.
