The southern faction of the Islamic Movement and the Ra’am Party led by MK Mansour Abbas on Monday issued a statement strongly condemning the IDF counterterrorism operation in Jenin.
The joint statement issued a warning to the "extremist Netanyahu-Smotrich-Ben Gvir government" against the continuation of "aggression or its expansion, which will result in a more dangerous deterioration of public security and the entire region, additional innocent victims and a wider escalation that could ignite a war in the region."
"Israel is currently ruled by a group of extreme right-wingers and dangerous settlers who conditioned their joining the coalition on the implementation of all their settlement plans and aggression against our people in the (West) Bank, the (Gaza) Strip and the Al-Aqsa Mosque," the statement said.
The statement also noted that "this is what we see being implemented in practice since this dangerous government took power", and that "all these aggressive plans and operations will crash into the legend of the Palestinian steadfastness that believes in the right to life, freedom and independence".
The Islamic Movement and Ra'am accused the "extremist" Israeli government of "using the blood of the Palestinians" to avoid the political crisis and the decline in its popularity and to divert the eyes of the public in Israel from the demonstrations and the popular protest against the "dictatorial judicial reform".
"Netanyahu is trying to regain the sympathy of the extreme right-wing public by shedding the blood of the Palestinians and in a more extreme way than that of Ben Gvir and Smotrich, who have become the compass that guides Netanyahu and his entire extreme government."
At the conclusion of the statement, it was emphasized that "no one will enjoy security and peace without a just and inclusive solution embodied in the establishment of a Palestinian state with Jerusalem as its capital next to the State of Israel."
