An IDF soldier was documented on Friday vandalizing a Palestinian Arab vehicle in the village of Qaryut in Samaria, near Shechem (Nablus).
Footage posted to social media showed the soldier, who was wearing a vest and helmet and carrying an M16 rifle, going to the rear window of the vehicle and hitting it with a sharp object. Immediately after that, the window is seen shattering as the soldier flees the scene.
The IDF Spokesperson’s Unit said in response, “An IDF soldier was documented a short time ago vandalizing a Palestinian vehicle in Qaryut during a routine patrol in the village.”
“This is a serious incident that is not consistent with the values of the IDF and what is expected of its soldiers,” the statement added.
“The incident was reported to the Military Police Investigation Unit, who are considering opening an investigation,” said the IDF Spokesperson’s Unit.
