Last Thursday, heads of the Yesha Council met with Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu at the Prime Minister’s Office to discuss matters of crucial importance to Judea and Samaria.
Heads of authorities in attendance were as follows:
Shlomo Neeman, Mayor of the Gush Etzion Regional Council; Benny Kasriel, Mayor of Ma’aleh Adumim; Eli Shaviro, Mayor of Ariel; Meir Rubenstein, Mayor of Beitar Illit; Yisrael Gantz, Chairman of the Binyamin Regional Council; Yossi Dagan, Chairman of the Samaria Regional Council; Yochai Dimari, Chairman of the Mount Hebron Regional Council; David Elhayani, Chairman of the Jordan Valley Regional Council; Aryeh Cohen, Chairman of the Megilot Regional Council; Shai Alon, Chairman of the Beit El Council; Avi Roeh, Chairman of the Sha’ar HaShomron Council; Eliyahu Liebman, Chairman of the Kiryat Arba Council; Asaf Mintzer, Chairman of the Elkana Council; Eliyahu Gafni, Head of the Emmanual Council; Hananel Dorani, Head of the Kedumim Council; Igal Lahav, Chairman of the Karnei Shomron Council; Yehuda Elboim, Chairman of the Beit Aryeh Council; Eyal Gelman, Chairman of the Jewish Administration in Hebron; and Zeev “Zambish” Hever, Secretary-General of Amana.
Shlomo Neeman, Mayor of the Gush Etzion Regional Council and Chairman of the Yesha Council stated that “From our point of view, the meeting between the heads of these communities and the Prime Minister signifies a return to normal, after they were halted during the previous government whose leaders refused to meet with us.
“We thanked Prime Minister Netanyahu for the accomplishments brought about for our communities, which were achieved together with ministers of his government during the few months of their tenure, among which were the announcement of nine new communities, approval for thousands of housing units, and the earmarking of new allocations for the development of roads and infrastructure."
"Prime Minister Netanyahu has proved his loyalty to Jewish development in Judea and Samaria several times in the past, and we are sure that during the current term of government he will continue to fulfill his principles and the voters’ wishes.
“The authority heads demanded that the Prime Minister take a harsh stand against terrorism and its perpetrators, and prioritize the handling of the Palestinian Authority’s illegal control of Area C, and the continuation of construction and development of infrastructure throughout Judea, Samaria, and the Jordan Valley. We support him and thank him for the professional and purposeful meeting, and we wish his government a long term and full completion of office."
