A hacker group calling itself Anonymous Sudan claimed to have hacked and taken down the website of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu today (Wednesday).
It appears that Netanyahu's website was briefly taken offline by a distributed denial of service (DDoS) attack.
Netanyahu's Facebook page was also hacked and briefly displayed a video of Arabic-language prayers at a mosque.
The alleged cyber-attack came as Israel was celebrating its 75th Independence Day.
Anonymous Sudan has claimed responsibility for a series of cyber-attacks against Israeli institutions in recent weeks.
Three weeks ago, the group claimed responsibility for cyber-attacks against ten Israeli universities: Hebrew University, Ben-Gurion University of the Negev, Haifa University, the Open University, the Weizmann Institute, Tel Aviv University, Bar-Ilan University, The Technion, Reichman University, and Ariel University.
The group stated that the attack on the universities was the first in an operation it dubbed "OPIsrael."
On Monday, Anonymous Sudan claimed to have brought down the website of Israel's National Insurance Institute.
