The balcony of the apartment of MK Almog Cohen (Otzma Yehudit) caught fire today (Wednesday) in Ofakim.
Police are investigating the fire. The Knesset Officer has been notified of the incident.
MK Cohen's office released a statement saying that he was not at home at the time of the fire and neither he nor his family were ever in any danger.
"There is no immediate suspicion of arson. The matter is currently under investigation by the police and firefighting department," the office said.
MK Cohen said: "I'm glad it only ended with property damane and luckily no one was hurt. I trust the Israeli police and the fire department to do their job. Happy Independence Day to the wonderful people of Israel."
