The parashiot (Torah portions) Tazria and Metzora talk about the different impure situations people go through, and the parsha begins with a woman having a baby and the process she has to go through to get out of the impurity.

While talking about her process, the Torah mentions one of the most important mitzvahs (commandments) incidentally - that on the 8th day, the baby should have a bris (circumcision) - and to this you really have to ask 2 questions: Why mention this very important Mitzvah so incidentally? Why not expand more on this mitzvah if it’s so important? But more than that, why is it mentioned as part of the process the new mother has to go through??
