An elderly Florida couple is telling their story after a Fort Lauderdale condo office manager allegedly physically attacked 71-year-old Martha Arnold and yelled antisemitic abuse at her, according to WSVN.

Arnold told the news outlet that she was “petrified” during the incident, adding she is now afraid to return home after being assaulted near an elevator at the condo complex.

The attack was captured by a security camera, she said.

“I was screaming like a madwoman,” Arnold recalled.

Martha, who lives at Ocean Summit in Fort Lauderdale with her husband Martin, explained that she was wearing headphones and returning to her condo from the pool area when the incident took place on March 16.

After the freight elevator did not show up she decided to take the resident elevator. At that point, she said the office manage assaulted her.

“I feel this hand pushing inside my body and screaming, and I was like, ‘Oh, my G-d.’ The first thing I said was, ‘Don’t push me,' and I face this hand, raising towards me, and she strikes me,” Arnold said.

She continued: “She lunged herself toward my neck, and she pushed me forcefully, very hard towards the elevator, smashed my head, smashed my back, and at the same time, she has her hand on my [collar],” she said.

“You have to look at the video in slow motion to note that she was pushing up and impacting on her windpipe.”

She immediately called the police after the attack ended. She added that when the police arrived, the office manager whispered “You [expletive] Jew.”

“By her calling me effing J, that was a big shock for me,” she said.

According to her, “We don’t understand the reason for the attack... Unless it’s an ethnic attack on us as Jews.”

The Arnolds told the news outlet that they cannot return home and that Martha is suffering from post traumatic stress disorder due to the incident, especially as the office manager still has her job and continues to work in the building.

The case is currently being examined by the Florida Attorney General’s Office.
