A Channel 13 News team was violently attacked by Likud supporters during a demonstration in Or Akiva on Saturday night.
Officers from the Yasam special patrol unit rescued reporter Liron Shamam, who was kicked by one of the protesters.
The chairman of the opposition, Yair Lapid, condemned the violence, and said, "The violent discourse that Netanyahu and his close entourage have been leading in recent weeks is being expressed on the ground. This incitement must stop. I strengthen the media teams across the country in their important task of covering the patriotic protest."
Channel 13 News said it “strongly condemns the attack on Liron Shamam, Channel 13 News reporter, during the coverage of the demonstration in Or Akiva."
Meanwhile on Saturday night, protesters against the judicial reform in Tel Aviv blocked the Ayalon Highway. They lit a fire on the road, uprooted a pole, and placed rocks with which they blocked the highway.
Police arrested at least 28 protesters at the demonstration. The officers used force, including mounted officers and riot control trucks, to clear the road.
