Since I publish articles about Aliyah and Israel in many different places, I receive a lot of comments. Lately, readers in the Diaspora are asking why they should move to Israel when "Fratricide is tearing Israel apart." Ha ha ha. That's a dandy!

Over the years, I have heard a lot of excuses but this is a new one. In truth, the only thing that is falling apart in Israel is the stranglehold of the leftist elite and the leftist media over the country. Sensing that their end is near, the leaders of the left are willing to sabotage the stability of the country in their desperate panic to remain in power. "If the State of Israel is not under our control then we won't let you have it!" they shout like the false mother who told King Solomon to cut the baby in half.

Jews the world over seem to have bought this fallacious tale because that's what they hear and read in the leftist, anti-Israel media, round-the-clock screaming that Israel's economy and society are falling apart. Now the President of Israel,Yitzhak Herzog, a diehard leftist and former head of the Labor Party,
has joined forces with his comrades in war. His proposal for compromise is a transparent attempt to stymie change and handcuff the right in order to preserve the rule of his lifelong partners of the leftist elite. Sadly, his warnings of civil war and blood in the streets are clearly designed to weaken the citizens of Israel who overwhelmingly voted in the latest elections for sweeping reform.

It's all a new anti-Semitic scam. Israel is undergoing some more birth pains, that's all. They are the pains of labor and new life, not of destruction. Like with the birth of a new chick, the shell must be shattered before new life can emerge.

It is the simple course of nature at work and the course of Israel's revival in the Holy Land. The rebirth of the Israelite Nation unfolds in a gradual development process, stage after stage. This great historical revolution of returning an exiled people to its eternal Homeland, and of returning the light of Hashem to the world via the reborn Jewish Nation, naturally meets resistance along the way. Change does not come easily. Negative forces do all they can to stand in the way, enemies of the Israelite mission from within and without.

So, beloved brothers and sisters throughout the Diaspora, and beloved brothers and sisters in Israel, don't be dismayed. The latest conflict between the left and right in Israel is just another positive step in the process of Redemption. It is a path to improvement, accompanied by the pains of growth, just like those experienced by almost every teenager as he or she grows to a new mature level. Don't worry - be happy. Hashem is our "midwife" and the yearned-for baby is on the way as we develop from a secular liberal nation to a kingdom of Kohanim and a holy nation. May it be soon!
