Israeli security forces captured four terrorists Wednesday, on suspicion of carrying out the murder Monday of 26-year-old dual American-Israeli citizen Elan Ganeles.
In a joint operation of the IDF, Shabak internal security agency, and the Border Police, the four suspects were captured following a siege on a building in the Aqabat Jabr camp just south of Jericho.
The IDF stated: "Earlier today, IDF soldiers operated in the Aqabat Jabr camp adjacent to the city of Jericho in a joint ISA (Shabak) and Israel Border Police activity. The forces apprehended four suspects, among them the terrorist suspected of committing the shooting during the terror attack, and three additional individuals suspected of involvement in the shooting attack (Monday) in which the late Elan Ganeles was murdered."
"Based on precise ISA intelligence, the forces entered the camp and surrounded the residence of the terrorists. Upon their arrival, two of them attempted to flee the scene. The soldiers responded by opening fire toward the suspects.
"The forces continued to surround the residence, and two terrorists surrendered as they exited the residence. During the activity, weapons were confiscated. The suspects were transferred to the ISA for further questioning," the IDF spokesperson concluded.
The IDF also published aerial drone footage of the operation in which the terrorists were arrested.
